Well, this being Ohio, and all things considered, it makes perfect sense that the weather has been beautiful all week...until today...Beggar's Night. We are looking down the long dark barrel of high gusting winds and heavy rain. Great. At least it'll be over for another year at 7:30 and I can go home and no longer be asked "what are you dressing up as" for about 11 months. I get very tired of this question because I don't dressup. I don't have a sitter so I never get to go to parties and for me, trick or treat is supposed to be about the kids, not the grown ups. On reflection though, I never really got into the whole dressing up deal, I stopped dressing up and trick or treating earlier than all my friends, and the last few times I did it, the dressup part garnered no real enthusiasm from me. I'm just an old "get off my lawn" man on the inside and always have been.
I have broken the dress update into "phases"
Phase one is the circle eyelet detail around the entire bottom
Phase two is the leaf eyelet detail on the front of the bottom
Phase three is the leaf eyelet detail on the back of the bottom
Phase four is the triangle cup top
Phase five are the straps
Phase six is the smocked back
I have completed Phases 1 and 2 so far - which took me about 9 hours...
